Calendaring

calendar

The entrepreneurial spirit often comes with passion, excitement, big ideas, and ADHD.

It’s true.

We all have some level of distractibility. No matter where you stand, today’s post is a quick and easy reminder about effective calendaring.

It’s nothing new or revolutionary, but it works.

When you have a project to complete, do this:

  1. Write down every detail that needs to be completed. (No, really – everything. Separate each task.)
  2. Write down the exact amount of time you will spend on each part of the task. Do your best to guess. Remember that if you give yourself an hour to do something, it will take an hour. If you give yourself “all day…” it will take all day.
  3. Calendar in each part of the project, like an appointment. An appointment has a beginning and an end. It requires us to commit.
  4. Follow your calendar.

Big projects are usually overwhelming because of how “big” they seem in our mind. When we get mathematical about it, that’s when we move closer to our goals.

Feeling overwhelmed? Too much to do, too little time?

Calendar. Do the math. Set appointments. Make it happen.

Have a great week!
