a plan

It’s your *Think it Thursday* and a plan.

How often do you plan your time?

Do you love to plan? Hate to plan? Fight against it? Feel restricted?

I can relate to all of these statements to be honest.

Planning and organizing my life is not something that comes naturally to me.
I crave order and systems, and yet I fight against it.

But, I’m doing it anyway.

As I’ve been planning more, here’s what I’ve found:

Planning never seems exciting, but I do it anyway. (and feel awesome afterward)

When I have a plan, I waste less time.
When I plan my “do nothing time,” I enjoy that time much more.

Planning makes my life easy.
Planning takes the weight of worry off my shoulders.

When I say, “I’m too busy to plan or be organized” – I’m wrong.

Planning is the remedy to busyness.

this is so much fun

It’s your *Think it Thursday* and this is so much fun!

Have I mentioned lately the importance of doing fun things in your life?

I used to think that was so frivolous.
I used to think, “Must be nice…. But I don’t have the time.”

The truth is- there is too little time in life NOT to have fun.

This week I started a new practice of writing down all the fun things I’ve built into my week and posting it by my bed. I see it every morning and every night. And every time I walk by.

My life is busy. 3 kids, my business, and all the craziness of life that creeps into the day.

But when I see that list, I get excited about all of those little things.

It might be a phone call you plan to have with a friend. Or picking up your favorite shampoo that’s on sale at Beauty Brands. Maybe it’s date night, or a walk, or choosing a paint color for your bedroom.

List everything you want to feel excited about.

Think about those things all through the week.

It’s magical.

2 more lives

It’s *Think it Thursday* and 2 more lives…

This week 2 more women signed up to start coaching with me.
Do you know what this means?

It means they have made a decision that their life and happiness matters.

They are tired of feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.
They are tired of feeling like they aren’t doing enough.
They are fed up with being ineffective, stuck in a rut, and downright unhappy.

And so, they decided to bet on themselves.

It wasn’t easy for either of them.
It was hard for them to think about spending money on themselves and scary to fear that it wouldn’t really make a difference.
Can you relate?

They both said, “it’s not you, it’s me.”  “I’m just afraid I can’t make these changes.”
But both of them, decided to bet on themselves.

They chose to believe they could do it and that more was possible.
And of course, they can do it.
It’s not just possible, it’s happening.

How can you bet on yourself today? Maybe you’re ready for a call with me, and maybe you’re not.
Either way, take a minute to think about what needs to change and how you can make it happen.

How will you take a step toward eliminating overwhelm?
How will you feel more satisfied in your life and relationships?
How will you have more confidence in who you are as an amazing and vibrant woman?

Think about it.
Bet on yourself.
Make it happen.

Incomplete

*Think it Thursday* and incomplete –

One of the biggest challenges of motherhood is being okay with incomplete.

It’s hard to measure success in the daily tasks of raising kids.

What’s clean one minute, is a disaster the next.

There are new problems every day.

You don’t feel like you’re checking many boxes.

I get it. And I help my clients with this all the time.

If you feel like you’re not getting anywhere, you’re probably frustrated and unfulfilled.

You wonder if what you’re doing is worthwhile.

And overtime, you may even wonder if you’re worthwhile.

It’s a trap I see women fall into all the time.

If you can relate, stop for a minute and think.

What if your worth and contribution is great, even without checking any boxes?
What if you are complete, even if the tasks around you aren’t?
What would be different if you felt confident that who you are matters?

And that you make a difference?

Think about it.

the secret to more energy

It’s *Think it Thursday* and I’m sharing with you the secret to more energy.

I’m teaching you something today that is my lifeline.

Some of you know I have chronic fatigue and it’s a constant challenge.

But this concept I’m telling you about, is a game changer.

Because we all get exhausted and worn out, especially as a mom.

My secret – energy management.

We hear a lot about time management, but the truth is that if you had more energy, you would make much better use of your time, right?

You can’t create more hours in the day, but you can create more energy.

There are certain things you do that energize you – maybe it’s alone time, maybe it’s social time.  Maybe it’s laughing or creating.  Take a minute to notice what energizes you.

There are other things that require more mental and emotional energy.  Leading kids in chores, balancing the budget, or sifting through your schedule for the week… stack these up and it could leave you spent, exhausted, with nothing left to give.

The key is to plan and manage your activities based on how they impact your energy.  The right combination is all the difference.

Think about this.  Time is finite.  There are 24 hour every day, period.

Energy is fluid.  You can manage your energy by building in plenty of activities that increase your energy, amongst those that drain it.

So today, here is your assignment:

List energizing and energy-depleting activities.  Plan them in to support you having sustained energy.  Revisit this idea often and just notice how you have the ability to manage your energy.

Magic.
